Luke D’Apice
After attaining his Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science) at the University of Wollongong in 2004 Luke continued his studies at The University of Sydney and in 2006 graduated with a Master of Physiotherapy.
Post studies, Luke spent 12 months working at The Prince of Wales Public Hospital in Randwick before moving into private practice. He has remained in this sector of the profession ever since and has been a proud member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association since his days as a student. Luke places a huge importance on giving the patient time to tell their story. He feels this often helps to find answers to people’s problems that might have otherwise been unattainable. Luke is a passionate believer that movement (along with things such as sleep and nutrition) is an essential and fundamental pillar of health. His background in Exercise Science places him in a unique position to both assess movement and also incorporate movement and exercise prescription into treatment programs.
In addition to this, Luke treats with a vast array of manual therapy skills honed over the past decade to zero in on the primary causes of his patients problems. This allows him to optimise treatment outcomes and make meaningful differences in people’s lives.
Finally, Luke is a firm believer in patient education being a very powerful tool. He believes that ensuring the patient fully understands what is causing their problem; what is involved in the treatment; and why it is happening, is a significant factor in achieving positive outcomes.
Luke is born and bred in the Sutherland Shire and still resides here along with his young family. He loves spending time outdoors with his kids enjoying the natural environments we are so lucky to have on our doorstep. Another of his favourite pastimes is golf. Luke was an extremely competitive amateur golfer in his youth and currently plays off a handicap of 1.
